stayed in double room as a single very comfortable breakfast food and service very good pool good but a little dark parking on site location in the heat of dun laoire awarding 4 stars
Our second stay here, gets better every time, pleasent ambience and great ameinities . Beautiful surroundings second hand shops a must meander. Staff second to none, thanks to all
Top marks to the Royal Marine. We couldn't find fault with the staff, food etc
BBeautiful old hotel, lovely clean rooms, free wi fi and parking, in the centre of dun laoghaire, near restaurants and shops. Near the bus stop to get to town. And great value with lidl breaks
loved our stay . we where going to talk by ian rankin in the pavilion theatre which is only a short walk away. the staff where so nice and helpful. the breakfast was great with loads of fresh fruit and the fry was very tasty. after all that food needed a swim, the pool and steam room where perfect but remember to bring your flip flops. the dart is just 5 mins walk away
First class stay at hotel.staff were excellent.
From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent. If you are looking for a Hotel on the coast with a 15 min train journey into the heart of the City. the Royal Marine is the hotel for you. Their triple rooms are a single and a double so if you wish to have three beds you will need to make them aware of this in advance.
Comfortable room and bed - single room on business good location in dunlaoire breakfast good quality staff pleasant underground car park access is tight for bigger vehicles - especially on down ramps
A Beautiful hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The food was lovely and the rooms were fab, the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a hotel to date. Fabulous value for money!
by Lorraine 3rd November 2015 We had a lovely stay in the Royal Marine Hotel over the Halloween Weekend. Beautiful room, well kept, and very comfortable bed. Lovely leisure centre with pool and sauna to relax in the evening. A nice breakfast served by a very attentive staff. Followed by a leisurely walk in the sunshine on the pier. We will be back to visit again soon.
I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 day stay in the hotel this week. The friendliness of the staff is overwhelming. The homeliness of the hotel foyer is heartening. The food was really delicious. The rooms are beautiful. And the beds....magnificent. Outside, the sun shone on DunLaoire pier and an air of relaxation was apparent with strollers enjoying the lovely views of Dublin Bay. I`ll be back....as soon as possible.
Lovely 3 day break in the Royal Marine Hotel. Value was exceptional, room and breakfast of a very high standard and the leisure facilities were top class! Easy access to the DART was a definite plus. I look forward to my next visit.
had a delightful stay ,staff a credit to the hotel ,food was top class , enjoyed our treatments , full marks all around will return
Stayed 2 nights at weekend, Hotel very wel kept, rooms cleaned well as was all other areas. Bar, restaurant nice with good food, singer on Saturday nice was great. Central location lovely grounds. Very nice area with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Went to Dalkey on the Dart nice town went into Sandycove to Rasam Indian on the Saturday night there was a mix up by us on the booking but they accomadated us and the food was great, would highly recommend, considering it is booked 3 weeks in advance we were very happy with the way we were treated.
Excellent hotel Clean rooms and comfortable Food excellent Friendly staff No complaints
Anna from Wexford 10/08/2015 Had a great stay Fabulous room but Breakfast a bit cold didn't want to leave liked been on the Irish Riviera will be back
this is a magical hotel and location, like being on the irish riviera, charming and full of ambience. enjoyed shopping around the corner, and walks on the prom, dart into the city for a show, all 2 minutes away. fabulous room and breakfast, didn't want to leave.
I booked a triple room at the Royal Marine Hotel. Everything was great, except the breakfast 'hot food' was stone cold. Maybe we were just unlucky. The setting of the hotel, bedrooms and ambience were great and I would return. I had to rush off to a meeting so didn't complain about the cold fry (thinking it was just a one-off). My sisters ate later and had the same complaint so now I wish we had drawn the staff's attention to it. Overall though I would give this beautiful hotel another chance.
We had a brilliant 2 days weather was great staff were great and the hotel facilities were brilliant would stay there again B Murphy
Stayed here for one night during the May bank Holiday weekend. Food in bar was lovely. We were given an upgrade to a bigger room when we were arrived which initially we were thrilled with. But when we went to the room, we room had been freshly painted and the smell was very overpowering. Found the fumes very strong throughout our stay. We weren't compensated in any way for this just thanked for bringing it to the hotels attention. Its a pity as otherwise hotel was nice
Delighted to have stayed here - staff were all very friendly and helpful - breakfast was fine - very convenient for the DART - hope to return in the near future - my thanks to Irish Rail for the ease in making the booking - cheers.
Great value break especially when use of the Leisure Centre is included. Great location and friendly staff.
We had a wonderful stay for 3 nights in this hotel. Everything was perfect. A very high standard during our stay. We will be back.
5 star, fantastic hotel and friendly staff in a beautiful setting
Very nice hotel, the rooms are well looked after and staff are very helpful Breakfest on both mornings of our stay was excellent. Hope to return soon.
WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY XXXXX
Very nice hotel, the rooms are well looked after and staff are helpful. The only thing I would change is that the extra breakfast space (outside Harry's Bar) should be kept well stocked. Would definitely return.
Myself and my wife stayed in the royal marine hotel on monday 2nd march. It was a wonderful experience for us. The hotel was beautiful, very comfortable with friendly staff. The breakfast the following morning was fantastic served up in a beautiful setting overlooking dunlaoire harbour. It was a really sunny morning which enhansed our experience no end. we will definitely be back. Fantastic value for the money and well deserve the five stars. 5 star rating Sincerely anthony and mary ennis
My little girl and i stayed in the Royal Marine Hotel for mid term february 2015. I would highly recommond this hotel, staff very friendly and so helpful in fact i had a hoarse throat during my stay and the waitress in the coffee dock on my departure to my room for bed gave me Honey and lemon which was a very nice gesture. I had breakfast at the hotel, choice was good. Location and view from hotel fab.....will definetly retun.....Trish Limerick
We had a really nice stay in the royal marine, it looks fab from the outside and didn't let us down inside either, large hotel with lots of different seating areas which is nice. The staff were very friendly and more than helpful. We ate in the bar and it was really nice and good value for money. The rooms were everything they should be, warm, clean and the beds were very comfortable. We were sleeping 3 adults in our room and could have done with extra towels as there only seemed to be enough for 2 but that is a small thing, over all everyone in our party was very happy and would happily recommend.
Fabulous hotel but i felt we were given the oldest room in the hotel looking out onto a flat roof. Would love to visit again and stay in the new area of the hotel
We had a most enjoyable stay in the Royal Marine Hotel. We have been a few times before and have always found it excellent. We were only there for 1 night but used the pool on two occasions as we had 2 children with us. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very kind and helpful. Dun Laoghaire is a lovely area and we will be returning to the Royal Marine Hotel in the near future.
My daughter and I stayed at this wonderful hotel on the 11th July and had the most fantastic time. The staff and management were so professional and helpful. The food was excellent and the hotel itself spectacular. The room was very comfortable and did not disappoint. I would certainly stay there again. The breakfast choices were amazing and they served up to 11am on Saturday and Sundays.
We stayed from 9th - 11th July on B&B basis. I had stayed before so I knew it had to be a sea view so just put this in the section when booking which is for requests. Just say it must be a sea view room and that you will pay hotel the additional supplement, I can assure you that you will not regret it. Also level 3 or 4 is good but this is only a request and cannot be guaranteed but they will do their best to accommodate this or any other requests you may have. I love this hotel, it is excellent , convenient to local shops, promenade and East Pier and the DART Station also lots of lovely walks for the more energetic! The buffet breakfast has anything you could possibly want, although if you want porridge, kippers or fried/poached eggs you will have to ask the waitress for these as they are freshly cooked to order, however the scrambled egg is really good. There is a wide range of food available all day. The hotel has a great atmosphere and the price we paid for the service and quality of hotel was an excellent deal. This hotel can be extremely busy at times.
From arrival we were treated like Royalty which is why in our books it is called the 'Royal' Marine Hotel. The staff in every area are courteous, attentive & go above and beyond the call of duty in their dealings with customers. The rooms are beautiful and have everything you could possibly need including fluffy bath sheets (not bath towels), fridge, safe, king size bed (most comfortable ever in a hotel) The food in Hardy's Bar is gorgeous and the service there is brilliant. The leisure centre blew us away with its facilities and best of all decent showers in the changing area (very rare in most hotels) The Wi-Fi was excellent and the breakfasts were beautiful, plenty of parking and stunning views of the harbour. Highly recommend this hotel
Excellent Hotel REALLY ENJOYED STAY 5 STAR
My husband had a hip replacement recently and was visiting the hospital in Dublin. I found the whole experience at the Royal Marine Hotel to be fabulous from the staff who were so helpful and could not do enough for us. My only regret was that we were not staying for two nights but we will be back again. One small complaint was that the set dinner menu was not very extensive and we found it hard to find things that we both liked. We ended up eating in the Bar which was excellent. Star rating 4.5
Excellent Hotel - would highly recommend for any kind of stay. Staff are very helpful and service was brilliant at all times. Have stayed here many times throughout the years and have never been disappointed. Could do with a bit of modernisation here and there, but it nothing that would put me off staying again. Looking forward to my next break there at the end of the summer!
Nice hotel, good location, some of the staff at reception could be more friendly - they seemed dis-interested when we arrived, however the lady on the desk the morning of our departure was very pleasant. I would stay here again.
Good welcome at reception and helpful. Hotel room was fine . Enjoyed tea and sandwich in open area at reception. Parking was handy. Breakfast was was not hot .Location ideal to centre of town and sea front.
Brilliant venue. Pleasant and quiet athmosphere. Lovely setting and walk on the prominade fabulous. Thank you 5 star rating
Hotel room staff everything was tops. Will be revisiting soon.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Royal Marine. The staff were really friendly and helpful. They went out of their way put the group in rooms beside each other without even being asked . The accomodation was of high quality and very clean. When I left something behind in the room, they were really helpful in searching for it and nothing was a bother. Will definitely stay again....
My mother and I really enjoyed our one night stay in the Royal Marine Hotel. The staff were most welcoming and helpful. The Bay Lounge was most relaxing. It was just a lovely break. Next time we hope to stay for a longer time. Patricia O' Donovan
We have just returned from a 3 night stay in The Royal Marine Hotel. The room was very spacious, clean, and more importantly, quiet. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The Breakfast where they have a buffet which serves everything from ceral, fruit etc to the full Irish, plus selection of breads, Danish pasteries etc. catered for everyones taste and appetite. We also ate in Hardy's bar plus the Restaurant and also the Bay Lounge. Overall food is lovely, very tasteful and it was only on our last night that we had to complain re the pork stir fry - the pork was as tough as anything. We explained to the waitress and she told the chef - my uncle than went to pay the bill and was charged for 2 pork stirfries which could not be eaten (well the noodles were lovely). Anyway it all got sorted on check out when I explained to a manager & he has given his word that my aunt and uncle will receive 2 free main courses on their return. All in all we had a lovely break and will definitely return. Also the leisure facilities are excellent.
I phoned hotel to see could I cancel booking on the day I was told no. So no room for error with hotel. I arrived at hotel and checked in at 18-30. I am a non smoker and when I got to my room there was a bad smell of cigar smoke. I was upgraded to a bigger room with no fuss. In the morning the water went off in the middle of me having a shower and I was informed by reception that it would be sorted in 20 to 30 minutes. Not much good when you are full of soap. But got sorted . Note to hotel things can go wrong sometimes !!! you might take this on board when people might have to cancel rooms none of us is perfect as to the hotel I will stay again soon and report on same
We had a great weekend. The hotel was excellent and the food great, the waiter on our table Saturday night was superb. I would suggest that a better use of bar staff on a Saturday evening should be to consider. Customer service, rather than top up shelves, should be the priority. Replenishing should de done in a slack period or when the stock is almost gone.
Our stay at the Royal Marine was lovely, as always the staff are very helpful and the beds are the comfiest ever. My only complaint would be the prices of the food and the beverages. A cup of milk for my child cost €1.60.
Beautiful hotel with an entrance and reception which are stunning, with an olde world feel. On checking in at 3pm reservations for dinner could not be made as it was booked out until 8.30pm, the dining area is very small which also becomes a problem at breakfast time, those in early, are rushed for the second sitting, and if there is no table free you have to wait in reception until called. We were unlucky as those in the room next door to us were trouble makers, after 3 calls to reception to report noise and fighting, security were sent up each time, but as soon as they left the racket continued, it was only when the guards were called at 6.30am and removed the offenders that we had any peace, which was way to late. The bar menu is basic, though the staff are very friendly and courtous, unfortunately they are let down by the "gentleman" in charge of breakfast, who is down right rude and has no manner, though he may have inherited this attitude from the manager on duty during our time there. Over all we were dissappointed, management didn't care that a corridor of guests were disturbed all night, just scibbled his email address on a plain sheet of paper, with a vague promise of a room upgrade should we return OR tea and a scone! Customer service needs to be up graded!!
Very good hotel, location and facilities good.
I have stayed in this hotel on a number of occasions using Lidl breaks. It is a fabulous hotel in a great location. The staff are very professional and friendly. The rooms are a good size and the food is excellent. The spa is fantastic and residents get discounted treatments. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.
This is a very good hotel, with perfect locatiion, staff are very friendly ,the food in the hotel is also very good,I love everything about this hotel, and will be returning.i would give this hotel 10/out of 10'.i would say 4star rating
we stayed one night in hotel and from the time we arrived at reception we were greeted by two very pleasant staff Our room was sea view it had a spectacular view of the marina the bed was extremely comfortable also deecar of room also very nice the food was excellent also staff very pleasant When we were departing the hotel we were met by a gentleman who was very pleasant and thanked us for staying and wished us a safe journey home We would highly recommend this hotel to anybody and will do so to our friends and hopefully we will return to the royal marine hotel in early February for a relaxing week end. Regards James & Marion
Check in was lovely, staff very friendly. Rooms lovely (we had two, three of us staying). Sadly met a friend in the Reception, had to wait over half a hour to get served and then the waitress in a bad mood. Next morning asked girl at what looked like a coffee bar about breakfast, she said breakfast over for the day and we were late - different waitress - sadly same bad mood - this was at 10.35 - we had been told at check in that breakfast available until 11.00 - after the surly service night before and in morning decided to have a coffee and just leave, Ended up getting lovely nosh in Goggins in Monkstown We stay in Dublin at least 5 to 6 times a year. but doubt we'll ever stay there again - deal or no deal and its not worth it. . Lane, Co Kerry
The hotel was superb, great location, very friendly staff, excellent value and the food was fabulous. Will definitely be staying there again.
Lovely and pleasant experience , would love to come back there again at another time.. 5 star
Another lovely stay at the Royal Marine. Great venue for a girlie getaway, or just to relax with your other half. Nice mix of old and new, in a fantastic location. Only issue this year was that there was a lot of noise during the night. We were woken up three times - twice with shouting in hallway and a third time when the same drunk guests set off the fire alarm! Did get an apology from reception when checking out though. Will deffo go back again. A firm favourite!
I stayed in this hotel on 23rd November 2013 and I have to say, it's an absolutely gorgeous hotel. The room was a good size, tastefully decorated, the beds were EXTREMELY comfortable and the staff were fantastic. There is a spa in the hotel and guests get discounted rates. However, it might be worth your while to book in advance and mention that you'll be staying there, as I would think that if you waited until you arrived to book a treatment, there would be limited or no availabilty. I would have no hesitation in recommending a stay at this hotel to anyone!
Fabulous hotel, rooms, food and amazing leisure centre....great location near shops, pier, sea walks etc. Most enjoyable two days. Will be back.
by Lorraine on 31st October 2013. We were given a lovely comfortable room in the Royal Marine Hotel on arrival. The staff were very efficient, friendly and helpful at check in. There was a very good selection of foods for the breakfast. The leisure facilities were excellent, and very clean. We are planning a return visit soon to the Royal Marine Hotel as we enjoyed our stay there so much.
Lovely hotel. Very Comfortable bed, great breakfast and friendly staff. Will definitely be back.
Very nice hotel with helpful and friendly staff. Very pleased with the value thanks to Lild Breaks, No hidden costs.
Excellent stay at The Royal Marine Hotel. The room was of a very high standard and spacious. We had a great view of the harbour. Staff were very friendly and efficient. There was a great selection of food for the breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay and intend returning again to the Royal Marine Hotel.
We had a wonderful stay at The Royal Marine Hotel, lovely food and very convenient for visiting Dublin.
Lovely hotel very comfortable, staff helpful, food great ,lovely surroundings. Lily Dunne.
Could not have enjoyed that stay more. Everything was perfect staff were great pool area was amazing. Also thanks for the Upgrade on the room. Great hotel
We stayed in Royal Marine Hotel August weekend. We loved the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent. We also had dinner at the hotel and were very happy with the food. We would recommend this hotel. This is my second time to stay here and I will definitely stay at this hotel again.
My husband and i had a lovely stay at your hotel last weekend. The hotel is beautiful , very clean , great breakfast and such lovely views. The staff were very helpful, friendly and the music in the bar was great . we would recommend this Hotel 100%. Thank you for a lovely stay
Really lovely hotel. Hotel staff very friendly and helpfull. Excellent value and the location was great. Would certainly make a return visit.
We had a lovely stay in The Royal Marine Hotel on Saturday 29th June 2013. We were at the Rod Stewart concert in the RDS and the Hotel was so easy to access the city. The hotel was beautiful and the staff were great. Our room was lovely and the bed was the most comfortable I ever slept. in. Food was lovely and very good value. Area was beautiflul too. We will be re-booking again in near future.
We love this hotel. Very well located, rooms spacious and clean. Friendly and efficient staff. Fabulous buffet breakfast. Beautiful pool, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. We will be back!
The staff on our arrival to the time we checked out were faultless. They were courteous and helpful. We really felt comfortable in the hotel and would definately stay ther again when in Dublin - thank you
Had a wonderful stay, this really is a grand old dame - and the attention to detail is evident everywhere. The room was spotless, great to have a mini fridge as we had a little one who needs milk, juices, yoghurt etc. The pool was amazing, the breakfast was top class - and the interior/decor was beautiful. A very good mix of modern and traditional. I will definitely return for a longer stay. Well done to all staff and management!
Lovely Hotel, helpful and friendly staff, very good value and a most enjoyable stay
Everything was excellent, the rooms the food and the service, could not recommend it highly enough.
We enjoyed our stay at the Royal Marine. The location of the hotel, on an elevated site overlooking Dublin Bay, affords a magnificent view and is convenient to the DART station some five minutes walk away. We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and had a lovely, quiet comfortable, well appointed room on the fifth floor. The lift system is very efficient. The buffet . Breakfast was delicious and we were spoilt for choice with the splendid variety available. Overall we were very pleased with our visit and highly recommend it. We will certainly return.
I stayed here recently for one night connected with business I arrived late and checked out early- there is an underground car park serving the hotel which is complimentary for residents- the room was comfortable, not overly large with a comfortable double bed -the mattress consisted of memory foam overlay over pocket spring - good nights sleep -decor was modern- bathroom consisted of shower toilet and wash hand basin, no bath - I had breakfast in the morning -quality of food was very good -quality of service was excellent - decor and ambience in the restaurant was very good. This is an old world hotel given a modern twist in recent years. There is a swimming pool and spa at the hotel however I didn't get an opportunity to use same. Its location is central in Dun Laoghaire and the views over Dublin Bay are commanding from its front facade I obtained good value rate and overall was happy with my stay so I have awarded 4 stars . Hotel receptionist was friendly, attentive and efficient
An excellent deal. The room was ideal - the hotel well located - everything went excellently. Our stay was for us to attend a family funeral nearby and the Marine was the best place for us to get away from all the pressure. We'll come again
great price but I just felt the request I had asked for was not even looked at. we had to change rooms twice as the first room we were put in was facing a brick wall and the noise coming from the boiler below was very noisy room 423. they then changed us to another part. which was ok. they said it was an upgrade but we were then facing a building site that they are building a libray on room 353 .there was a party of 4 of us for a wedding anniversary but one couple were in one building and us in another. if that was an upgrade i would seriously question the price and the quaility. we have booked 3 nights for my husbands parents on the 3 of may coming and would consider cancelling it due to what we have experinced. rooms very cold and not the cleaniness. 5 out of 10 at a push.
It was a great stay everything was perfect and it realy helped us all with the price Lidli gave us it was fantastic i would recomend to every one thank you Lidli
Stayed one night in March and found it a very pleasant hotel. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast selection was excellent and found my booking to be excellent value for money. The one down side was the bar prices were a bit over the top and as such we socialised away from the hotel.
This was exceptioal value for money and everything met or exceeded expectations. The attention of the staff, the food and the quality of the rooms were all top class. The hotel location is very good. I would thoroughly recommend this deal
Excellent location. Comfortable rooms. Helpful, friendly staff. Good food. Great value. Would definitely stay again and recommend to a friend.
beautiful hotel. great location.
Pro's Good location. Free parking. Nice breakfast. Adequate spa facilities. Con's Some tiles broken in bathroom. Poor view from room, did not get upgrade to seaview so expected I suppose. No newspapers available at breakfast
Nice Hotel, food was lovely staff very nice overall very good
Stayed in Royal Marine 23rd febuaray for one night, got a package deal, had a room upgrade and free dry floations in sanasan spa, excellent would really recommend it. That was my fourth time staying there and i will do so again. Everyone was very helpful.
Excellent time, couldn't have been greeted and hosted by more professional, warm and capable staff. Will definitely be back.
Stayed for 2 nights Mon and Tue of this week 11th and 12th of Feb., lovely hotel, rooms were excellent and Leisure facilities were also excellent, excellent location and Dun Laoghaire has a lot to offer. Staff were friendly but was let down by the standard of food. The restaurant was closed in evenings during the week (which was not said on the website) which only left the bar and bar food menu which wasn't very elaborate, we ate there the first night which was good but the staff were few which left service very slow, we had to go out to get a good meal the 2nd night rather than eating the same again, was also disappointed with the breakfast as it said on the menu "Scones" and "muffins" which we saw none of and also none of the breads were home baked they were all bought and not very fresh, the staff in the breakfast room were not very good either, my wife ordered 2 boiled eggs and they didnt come out until we asked about them after 15 mins and they were rock hard so she sent them back and was told we would have more in 4 mins, the girl passed our table several times after this and seen us but again after 12 mins i had to ask her about the eggs again, this time they were ok but staff not on top of their game and not focused on their job was a bit of a let down on the hotel because we were also woken up at 8.15 am by "Accomodation" trying to enter our room as we were still asleep, and when she discovered we were still in the room she said she would call back, to which she did at 8.45 which was ridiculous as we were checking out that day so the room should not have been done until we left. Overall it was good but for a 4 star hotel the staff were very poor except for at reception, the girls there were excellent, and also with a bit of a let down and false advertising on the food front i would rate the hotel 3 star, maybe in higher season the standards might be better.
Royal marine is a lovely hotel, great location, this Was my first time bono king with Lidil breaks, and i found them very good, and help f ull as i made a mistake in the bono king, and very quickly ,them give me my refund, this is a great hote and i Will give 10 out of10..
Lovely hotel. I think we were just unfortunate that a wedding party were on our floor and kept us awake until 6am. But this would not stop us staying here again. Food and location great! Will definatly stay again.
I enjoyed my stay in the Royal Marine Hotel on Thursday January 31st.One night B/B ,everything from check in to check out was excellent. My room warm and very comfortable, dining room the same. Full marks everybody, looking forward to the next time. Regards P.J. Gallagher.
Good hotel perhaps it has seen better days. However staff very nice rooms spotless and comfy bed. Have stayed here many times. swimming pool sauna all good. Would recommend highly.
I and a friend had a very pleasant stay here last Saturday night and couldn't fault it in any way. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
Myself and my husband had a one night stay in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire. The rooms were very nice and I have say the bed was one of the most comfortable I have even slept in. The Hotel was spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly and professional at all times. The atmosphere in Hardy's Bar was very inviting and again bar service was excellent. Breakfast was a treat which we both thoroughly enjoyed. I would highly recommend this hotel and plan to visit it again in the near future.
We had a really lovely break in this hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful . Hotel food lovely but drink very expensive so expensive we only had the one. Situation of the hotel was beautiful looking out onto the promenade. Dun laoghaire a lovely spot u wouldn't realise you were in Dublin. We will return to this hotel again good time had by both kids and parents. Four stars.
Our stay in the Royal Marine Hotel was very enjoyable. The service was first class. We love staying there
Top marks to Royal Marine Hotel. Staff friendly courteous. enjoyed our stay there would certainly stay there again. Would Highly recommend it to friends
Great Hotel! Great Stay - really recommend!
Very good classy hotel! The room we got however was not facing the sea and a bit small, but the bed was massive. Try asking for a sea view (not sure if they give this for Lidle breaks). We asked for a late check out (2pm) and this was no problem. The pool, steam room, hot pool facilities were very good and relaxing. The breakfast was buffet style an very yummy. The parking was also free which was great. Even after you check out, you can leave your car their for free all day. This was an added bonus the next day while we walked the pier, went to the peoples park market, and shopped in the shopping centre next door.
Lovely hotel, great staff, good food and lots of leisure facilities. Adding a dance floor and some late music would make it a perfect getaway destination.
Maureen Hughes 20th of oct. stayed at the royal marine hotel for 2 nights, there was 11 of us booked through lidle breaks. everything was great including the comfortable bed . we all had appointments in sansaspa spa on the sat. where very well looked after, hoping to go back for christmas night out would really recommend booking with lidle and royal marine hotel
Hotel was very busy and it took a long time to get rooms of which i had booked 3. So next day no problem getting a late check out.
My only regret was not booking the Hotel for two nights - we arrived to a warm welcome from Reception on Friday evening. Our bedroom was very clean and bright with amazingly comfortable beds. bathroom included individual toiletries, very rare at the moment. after a scrumptious breakfast to include an array of fresh fruits, pastries, various breads and hot food buffett, we enjoyed a swim, sauna and jacuzzi, again we were very well look after by the professional Leisure facilities staff. i look forward to returning for a longer stay in the very near future to the Royal Marine Hotel Dun Laoghaire. Liz and Family - Waterford
Had a lovely stay at the Royal Marine.room was very nice and comfortable will return again soon.
As usual the Royal Marine Hotel ticks all the boxes. Love staying here. Have booked for the 13 October for a family gathering for 6 which i am sure will be top notch once again.
Found my stay relaxing hotel and amenities are lovely food perfect highly recommended
The Royal Marine lives up to its billing. From the moment we arrived the staff were very courteous and efficient and made us feel at home. The room was excellent although I am glad we chose to upgrade to a sea view room as it is well worth it for the view! For the price we paid from Lidl-Breaks this was an absolute bargain and I will probably stay here again for concerts in the future as it is so handy for the DART.
Had a fabulous stay here! The staff were so warm and attentive, great facilities and had a beautiful seaview. Plenty to see and explore is Dun laoighaire also. I would highly recommend a lidl break here!
Fabolous hotel fabolous room we shall definitely return again!
As usual the Royal Marine lives up to its reputation as being a first class hotel. Three of us enjoyed an upgrade which was fabulous, staff great and spa treatments wonderful. What more can i say. One tiny remark, the information book in the room states breakfast served until 11am when in fact it is 10.30am as we found out when we went down for it at 10.45. The stroke of a pen would rectify this rather than having to pay a fortune to have the books updated. Regards Carmel Ryan
We had a wonderful one night stay in The Royal Marine Hotel. Our room was fabulous with a large double and a single bed overlooking Haigh St. Every member of staff was polite and helpful and the breakfast was really tasty. Best of all was the location; step outside the Main entrance and you are a few steps to the beautiful Marina. We could have been in the south of France. Shopping is on your doorstep too and the icing on the cake was..... THE PARKING is FREE !!
I STAYED HERE FOR THREE NIGHTS WHILE ATTENDING A CONFERENCE OVER THE WEEKEND. THE HOTEL IS BEAUTIFUL AND WELL MAINTAINED. THE STAFF WERE ALL VERY HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY. I HAVE ONLY ONE RECOMMENDATION - THE GYM AND POOL ARE NOT OPEN UNTIL 8AM OVER THE WEEKEND AND THIS MADE IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET THERE IN THE MORNING AS CONFERENCE STARTED AT 9AM EACH DAY& DID NOT FINISH UNTIL 10PM. IT WOULD BE NICE IF IT OPENED AT 7AM OR IF GUESTS COULD USE GYM AT 7-8 IF THEY HAD SIMILAR TIME CONSTRAINS. OTHER THAN THAT THE HOTEL MET ALL MY NEEDS AND I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE BED...REALLY COMFORTABLE- LOVELY ROOM. GREAT HOTEL WOULD DEFINATELY STAY AGAIN AND RECOMMEND TO FRIENDS.
We had a lovely overnight stay in the Royal Marine Hotel. We loved everything about it. Its proximity to the Dart station was a great advantage and made for very easy access on foot. The views were stunning. The rooms very comfortable and the staff were really helpful. The food was fantastic Dun Laoghaire pier is ideal for a refreshing walk before dinner.. Im looking forward to going back there again for a longer break. Kay & Karen
A lovely overnight stay in may 12. Friendly and helpful staff, rooms were spotless and breakfast was very good. Will certainly go back again.
Really lovely hotel - staff very friendly - very busy and the surrounding area of the hotel was lovely
great value and lovely service .bar food was excellent and use of pool great .dun laoire sea views nice but was a little disapointed when i requested a sea view if possible to view from our room and was told it would be another for another 20 euro each.over all i nice relaxing break but dunlaoire lacking a bit of nightlife.
Four of us had a great stay in the Royal Marine Hotel last weekend. Previously stayed in this hotel for a few days last October and returned for the service, location, comfort and service. Staff very friendly and very obliging. Great choice for breakfast and bar food excellent. We had a meal in the nearby Hartley's restaurant which was excellent. Will return again in the summer to enjoy the fine walks and beautiful scenery nearby.
Great hotel. Great location facing the marina. Pool,Jacuzzi and sauna was open to all hotel guests which was a great way to spend the afternoon. All you can eat breakfast. Staff very friendly. Rooms were comfortable especially the beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and mini fridge was handy. Would definitely stay again.
My daughter and I stayed in the Royal Marine last Saturday 21st April for her birthday. We love this hotel. I happen to be a member of the Health Club. Got an upgrade which cost only €10 extra and boy what is worth it. Swimming pool Sauna and Jacuzzi all great. The hotel was very busy which is great to see in this climate. The vintage fair was on the next day which we attended. Great breakfast and staff wonderful. Can't wait for my next stayover. Carmel Ryan
Everything was lovely apart from the breakfast service as i felt they may been overbooked or undermanned with overflow tables being used (which was fine) with nothing set up on them (milk, sugar, cutlery, etc), also as we were sat in the lobby, teas and coffees took a lot than expected to arrive. The hotel itself is a great mix of old and new. the pool, sauna, steamroom, and gym were all well equipped as was the room. Staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to a friend
LOVELY HOTEL.STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND MOST HELPFUL.I LEFT A VERY EXPENSIVE PAIR OF JEANS IN THE TOILET AND I GOT THEM IN LOST PROPERTY THE FOLLOWING DAY.I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.ALSO WE WERE NOT HASSLED TO GET OUT OF THE ROOM.I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN.5STAR
Beautiful Hotel, great room, lovely location for my friends Wedding reception, wonderful staff and the meal was great too!
We had a great time the hotel was perfect. We would use it again
We had a most enjoyable stay at the Royal Marine Hotel on 16th March. After our arrival we relaxed in the pool , hydro pool and steam room - the staff were so friendly and helpful there. The restaurant satisfied our hunger and was very reasonably priced. We loved the beautiful breakfast on St.Patrick's morning which sustained us well into the day after our brisk walk on the pier in front of the hotel.Thank you so much.
Stayed in royal marine hotel for Ireland-Scotland 6 nations match. Excellent hotel. Great facilities, spotless, fab breakfast & v friendly staff. Great location also as only 5 mins walk to DART. Would love to go back with family but don't see family room available through Lidl-breaks. 9/10
Really enjoyed our Lidl break at the Royal Marine Hotel, lovely location, nice room and nice food and as well as that the weather was good at the weekend for a walk on the pier. Good value for money. We will be visiting again. Four stars.
Lives up to it's 4 star rating. Excellent staff, superb brekfast and five star value. Outstanding feature: a young lady member of staff at reception who may or may not have been training staff or be a supervisor, who understands customer service comes first, masterclass.
Fantastic, comfortable and luxurious stay. Great hotel. Have stayed before and will definitely again. Great deal on Today FM breaks.
Wonderful Hotel, staff excellent. Enjoyed a very relaxing weekend:-)
A perfect stay. The staff, especially the check-in staff could not have been more helpful. Breakfast was beautiful and the tea we had for breakfast and later by the open fire was the best I ever had in a hotel. The location is gorgeous. This hotel is much better with its facilities and location than central city hotels. There was some noise because of parties in the hotel but apart from that it was perfect. Can't wait to return.
Lovely hotel, staff very friendly and the room was comfortable. We were attending a party there, so we didn't have a meal but there was finger food at the party and it was really lovely so I'd say the meals are just as good. Breakfast was also very nice. I didn't get to use the spa unfortunately but it looked fab - next time maybe?! I couldn't fault this hotel and the price we paid was excellent, I just don't feel that we used all the facilities enough to give it a better rating.
review by Lorraine on 6th March, 2012. Lovely hotel: rooms very spacious and beds very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely, and plenty of varied food to choose from. I thoroughly enjoyed my two trips to the swimming pool, hydra pool, and sauna. Everything is situated very central to the hotel, church, shops, harbour walks, which are within easy walking distance. I enjoyed my weekend stay so much, that I have already booked another weekend to stay there in the summer. Thanks Lidl for such great value breaks!
Had a lovely stay. Food very nice and rooms spacious and very comfortable. Dunlaoghaire is a lovely area and im sure in the Summer its fantastic.
